  • FINE SAKE ARITA WARE- Arita ware (Arita-yaki) dates back to 400 years ago and is produced around the town of Arita in Saga prefecture. The unique ceramic stone from the area makes Arita-yaki light, thin, but resistant to breakage. Its translucent surface when held up to the sun made it very popular overseas and it was exported to European countries and used by royal families. Arita-yaki is known for its blue and white porcelain, referred as "white gold" and influenced European porcelain, including Meissen.
  • MODERN TRADITIONAL STYLE- The sake carafe and sake cups are in classic Arita white and feature dark blue brush strokes and ink drops. This elegant design adds a modern taste to classic Japanese aestheticks and elevate your sake experience.
  • CRACKLES IN CERAMICS- Glaze crazing or glaze crackle, called Kannyu in Japanese, is a network of lines or cracks in the fired glazed surface arising from differing rates of expansion and contraction between the clay body and the glaze. Technically any ceramics has crackles to a varying degree and these are not cracks in the actual structure of the pottery.
  • HOW TO SERVE SAKE- This type of sake carafe is called Tokkuri and is used for heating, cooling, and serving sake. Sake is transferred from the original bottle to a Tokkuri (as wine is to a decanter), and poured in a sake cup (called Ochoko). This set is versatile for both hot and cold sake.
  • SIZE- Sake Carafe (260 ml) 3.1"(W) x 6.1"(H), Sake Cups (50 ml) 2.4"(W) x 1.6"(H) CARE INSTRUCTION- Heat proof but Not microwave safe. Dishwasher safe.
